Happenings and Events
Renovations have started
May 3rd was our last Mass in the church until November. The first thing to be done will be removal of asbestos on the interior walls east and west. Then, the pews will be removed and restored. We have hired Frontier Construction as the general contractor. All of this has been made possible by the cooperation of so many of our parishioners who have contributed to the “Inherited from the Past – Preserving for the Future Capital Campaign.”
Holy Hour
You are invited to be an “Adorer” on the first Wednesday of every month. You can choose to stay for a few minutes, half hour, or a full hour. The hour of devotions
and quiet prayer will start at 6:30PM an end with Benediction at 7:30PM. The next Holy Hour is Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30pm in the Chapel located at 2420 Greengarden Rd. Please join us!
Women's Bible Study
All ladies are invited to our Women's Bible Study “Making Friends with the
Sunday Readings”. If you've never done a Bible study before, this is a great
chance to meet some new friends and try something new. The next meeting
will be Monday, May 11 in the cafeteria at 6:30pm.
Help Needed
There is a strong need for some help in some projects that have been a part of our parish life. Four Leaf Clover, a fun evening held in March and an important fundraiser. Thanksgiving Craft Show coordinator, reestablishing the Building and Grounds Committee and continue with developing a Parish Safety committee. A Decorating Committee needs to be developed also. We need parishioners to come forward and help. No one will be alone or sent out on their own. There will be guidance. These are great opportunities to build parish community. Nothing here can happen without you! Ifyou would like to help please contact the Parish Office.
CHURCH PARKING
PLEASE do not park in the corner lot (26th & Greengarden) unless you need handicapped parking. This is what the lot was designed for. There are many kinds of disabilities, some require a walker or wheel chair, some do not and a long walk is a struggle for them. PLEASE allow these people to park near to the doors of the church. Also, please DO NOT PARK across the street in the Oakwood Plaza parking lot, some of those stores are open on Saturday evening and also some on Sunday morning. They have kindly asked us to reach out to our parishioners about this. Not on ly should we be respectful to them but 26th Street is a very busy street and crossing in the middle of it is very dangerous. There have been some accidents in recent years with one unfortunately being fatal. We want you with us in church celebrating Mass not your funeral.
Help Wanted
We always need volunteers to make our events a success. If you would like to help out or just get more involved in the parish please call the Parish Office: 814.454.0171
